Facilities Management, Downtown Phoenix campus, seeks a Mover to move heavy objects, furniture, and equipment.
Provide physical labor to move, stage, and organize university assets including furniture, appliances, equipment, and supplies. Frequently communicate with customers on work activities and work progress. Utilize hand tools (e.g. screw driver, pliers, wrenches, socket wrenches) and power tools (e.g. drill). Operate dollies/handcarts, forklift and other moving equipment. Deliver and set up chairs and tables for university functions. Wear personal protective equipment (e.g. safety glasses, hard hat, gloves). Drive university vehicle.
DAYS AND SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 7:30AM-4:00PM
One year of moving experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Employee must possess a valid US Driver’s license of the appropriate class and required endorsements throughout employment.
- Experience with professional moving/event setup and teardowns
- Experience with office moves
- Experience with modular furniture system installations and tear downs
- Experience with customer service
- Experience utilizing hand/power tools, dollies, and lift gates
- Experience in using Microsoft Office software including Outlook email.
- Evidence of effective written and verbal communication skills
Campus environment spaces include professional offices, academic classrooms/laboratories, mechanical/equipment, retail, and exterior. Work involves moving, assembling, and disassembling furniture and equipment in all space types. Standing/walking on feet for multiple hours per day. Lift/push/pull and carry objects up to 100 pounds. Work for long periods of time outside in varied temperatures. Utilize computerized work order management system to document task progress/completion.

This position is located at the Downtown Phoenix campus, 522 N Central Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85004.
Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license (minimum Class D) upon employment and maintain throughout employment. A Department of Motor Vehicle search will be conducted. Post-offer of employment, selected candidate must possess an acceptable driving record which is 5 or fewer points in the most recent 39 month period from date of hire.
Must pass pre-employment physical examination post offer of employment.
Ability to obtain forklift certification within five (5) months of hire.
